Our Medical Directors

	Dr Robert C. Amster MD Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Robert C. Amster is the founder of Your Neighborhood Urgent Care (YNUC) and is a practicing Urgent Care Physician. He received his BA from Rutgers College and went on to complete Medical School at the University of Rochester. He earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and an MS Degree from Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Amster has over 30 years of experience as a residency-trained and board-certified Emergency Physician and board-certified Occupational Medicine Physician. He served as the Director of local Emergency Departments and was Medical Director at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California. Dr. Amster has been a member of the Industrial Medical Council in California, and is a Workers Compensation MRO and QME. He is also a lifetime Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr Amster has successfully opened 10 Urgent Care Centers throughout Southern California, with more on the way.

	Ranya Alexander, PhD, MD Regional Medical Director, San Diego County
Dr. Alexander has an extensive background in both Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine. He attended undergraduate school at Union College in Schenectady, New York, and earned is MA in Biochemistry from Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, and University at Buffalo. He received his PhD in Biochemistry and his MD from University of California, Davis. He completed his Residency Training in Pediatrics at Yale University and his Emergency Medicine Residency at University of California, Los Angeles. His Fellowship Training in Pediatric Endocrinology was at University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Alexander serves on the board of a San Diego biotech company pursuing a solution to early diagnostics of neurodegenerative and other diseases.
